Mid-West. Region Sock Drive
RE: Mid-West Regional Sock Drive
The Professional Football Players Mothers Association, the Mid-West Region, will host a. community sock drive. Our very own Roslyn Peoples will be spearheading this sock drive by representing PFPMA in the Detroit, Michigan area. This event aims to collect over 200 pairs of new socks and hygiene items, to be distributed to the Life After Care, foster care facility in Detroit, Michigan. We understand the tremendous need for high school boys to have an intact support system as they navigate into adulthood. This generous act will shower these foster care boys, with a gift of love. and warmth.
Who is Life After Care?
The Life After Care, is a non-profit organization based in Detroit, Michigan. They provide essential life skill training to high school boys, living in foster care facilities, necessary to sustain them beyond the foster care system. The program began in 2019, by Jazlee Trouser, a former foster care resident. Her motto ‘It takes a Village’ has been making a difference in the community by providing training in financial literacy, character development and career exploration for high school boys graduating into adulthood.
What is PFPMA's role?
PFPMA's role is to support this cause by collecting and distributing donated socks to Roz Peoples, so she can deliver them to Ms. Trouser at the facility. On behalf of PFPMA’s Mid-West Region and the organization, Roz will package the socks along with other essential items for the boys.
